Azincourt Energy Prepares Winter Road For 2022 Exploration Program At East Preston Uranium Project

Azincourt Energy Corp. (TSXV: AAZ) reported today updates on its upcoming 2022 exploration program at the East Preston uranium project in the western Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. The firm is working on preparing the winter access road to the property in anticipation of a drilling program.

The 73-kilometre road from Provincial Highway 955 to the planned Snoop Lake camp site on the property is set to be maintained under the supervision of TerraLogic Exploration Inc. The road has so far been opened beyond Mirror River, approximately 55 km along the route to camp.

“The cold weather and advanced road preparation are allowing a good base to be packed and frozen which provides excellent access to the camp for the duration of the winter program,” said VP for Exploration Trevor Perkins. “A good base will also allow the road to better withstand warming in the spring before beginning to break up.”

Major camp equipment and materials are expected to be on-site by the end of the month while the camp construction is anticipated early next week. Following this, drilling is expected to start shortly using two diamond drill rigs throughout the months of January and February and into early March.

The planned 2022 drilling program will cover a minimum of 6,000 metres in 30-35 drill holes that will target zone trends coming from a compilation of surveys and drills done from 2018 through 2021.

The company announced in September that it plans to use artificial intelligence-driven solutions to drive operational efficiencies at the mine.

Azincourt Energy last traded at $0.07 on the TSX Venture.
