Carbon Streaming Corp Accepted To International Emissions Trading Association

Carbon Streaming Corp (NEO: NETZ) is evidently looking to validate its role within the carbon credit industry. The company this morning announced that it has been formally accepted as a member of the International Emissions Trading Association.

The Internation Trading Association, or IETA, is a non-profit that was established to act as an international framework for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The organization, among other items, has seen its members develop an emissions trading regime focused on real reductions of greenhouse gases, with members including international firms from across the carbon trading cycle.

The addition of Carbon Streaming into the organization will enable the firm to participate in policy discussions, while providing insight to industry intelligence and exposure to further emissions trading.

“We are thrilled to be accepted as a member of IETA. It is an organization for which we have enormous respect, and we are excited to count ourselves among such a distinguished membership with a shared mission to provide innovative, effective, and sustainable market-based climate solutions,” commented Justin Cochrane, CEO of Carbon Streaming.

The addition of the firm into the IETA follows the news earlier this month that the company has acquired a significant 2.9 million carbon credit stream for the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve Project. The stream is expected to produce a significant stream for the company for the remaining 20 year lifespan of the project, while also directly benefiting the reserve project by bolstering their cash position to carry out preservation tasks.

Carbon Streaming Corp last traded at $2.90 on the Neo.
