First Phosphate Reports Grab Sample Assays As High As 20.52% Phosphate

The latest assay results are in for First Phosphate related to a recent surface sampling program conducted at the firms Bégin-Lamarche project in the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region of Quebec. The results are said to have resulted in a new discovery while providing further drill targets for a planned program.

“Extended analysis of the Begin-Lamarche property continues to reveal some of the highest grade phosphate samples ever produced in the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region of Quebec. These deposits have the potential to be highly desirable for the production of LFP battery material because they are devoid of high concentrations of deleterious elements,” commented President Peter Kent.

Multiple samples are said to have reported high grade assays, with the results being toplined by one sample, E704981, returning values of 18.96% P2O5 (phosphorous), 6.81% TiO2 (titanium), and 32.82% Fe2O3 (iron). Overall, the results released came from three target areas on the property.

At Target 1, the company collected 70 surface samples under the program, with 30% of these assays grading over 10% P2O5. The target is said to contain “rich and thick layers of phosphate rock,” with a strike length of 2.5 kilometres by 400 metres identified, based on sampling and magnetic surveys conducted to date.

Target 3, which is found 3,000 metres to the south of Target 1, saw 38 samples collected, with nine of those samples seeing values in excess of 10% P2O5, resulting in what is referred to as a new discovery. The two targets are suspected of being aligned and forming “part of an even further extended strike zone.” Airborne magnetic survey results previously released by the company suggest that a potential strike length across Targets 1, 2, and 3 could be as much as 8 kilometres long, with the thickness of the high grade phopshate-bearing horizon being as much as 130 metres.

Finally, samples collected at Target 8 have indicated that another high grade phosphate area exists on the property, with one sample assaying as high as 20.52% P2O5, 9.10% TiO2, and 39.62% Fe2O3. Six samples collected returned values in excess of 10% P2O5, out of a total of 19 that were collected.
