Green Organic Dutchman Receives Organic Certification at Valleyfield Facility

The Green Organic Dutchman (TSX: TGOD) announced this morning that its Valleyfield, Quebec facility has officially received organic certification from Pro-Cert. Pro-Cert is an internationally recognized organic licensing body that is ISO 17065 compliant.

The certification will enable the Valleyfield facility to become the largest organic certified facility in the world. It’s anticipated that upon final build out the footprint will be approximately 1.3 million square feet.

“It’s exciting to reach new milestones as we begin commercial production. Growing certified organic cannabis at scale is a highly complex process which has taken time, great care and extensive research to refine. Each of our facilities goes through a robust certification process, in line with the high standards we have set, ensuring operational excellence at all stages,”

Brian Athaide,  CEO  of TGOD

Notably, the facility has yet to achieve substantial scale as the first phase of the operation is under construction, with expected completion near the tail end of 2019. While a licensed breeding facility exists on site, the operation is used primarily for research and development.

In terms of size, phase 1A of the facility upgrade will see a total production capacity of 65,000 KG of organic cannabis being produced per annum. Phase 1B, with expected completion in 2020, will double that capacity to 130,000 KG. Upon substantial completion of the facility in 2021, TGOD anticipates that the facility will be capable of producing up to 185,000 KG of cannabis annually.
