Mission Ready Awarded Contract from US Defense Logistics Agency

Mission Ready Solutions Inc (TSXV: MRS) was awarded a contract, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Unifire Inc from the United States Defense Logistics Agency on March 5, 2020. The contract is of a firm-fixed-price, and does not have a definitive delivery date or specified quantity.

The contract was awarded to five other companies as well, and is an extension of the United States Defense Logistics Agency’s Special Operational Equipment Tailored Logistics Support, and is labeled as the New SOE Bridge. The New SOE Bridge will be a continuance of the current line of incidental services under the existing program.

The SOE TLS Program is is a program that was developed and is supported by the Defense Logistics Agency as a means for the US Federal Agencies and US Military to order commercial part-numbered items via selected vendors. These selected vendors, known as Prime Vendors, are the only companies allowed to participate in this program, and amongst them is Unifire. When one of the government agencies request a certain product, each of the six vendors are contacted and utilizing the competitive business model, and then a vendor is successfully selected based on pricing.

However, prior to Unifire being awarded the contract, the company filed a pre-award protest on February 13, 2020, protesting the US Defense Logistics Agency’s decision to not accept one of Unifire’s separate competition proposal. The protest was filed with the US Court of Federal Claims on the basis that the DLA unfairly excluded their proposal based on US federal government regulations. The outcome of protest bid is pending.
