Namaste Technologies Chief Strategy Officer Resigns

Namaste Technologies (TSXV: N) announced this morning that their Chief Strategy Officer, Darren Gill, has resigned from his position. Namaste indicated that the resignation is a result of Gill pursuing other opportunities.

Gill was originally appointed to the role of Chief Strategy Officer back in February, at the same time Meni Morim was appointed as CEO of the company. The promotion was in direct connection with the ousting of then chief executive Sean Dollinger, who was accused of numerous self-dealing instances between himself and the public issuer.

Gill was promoted from the role of Vice President, Strategic Operations. He had held that position for only a few short months after joining the company in October 2018 following a stint at Deloitte wherein he was a senior manager of M&A. The departure of Gill thus occurs only 12 months after initially joining the firm.

The announcement of the resignation of the issuers Chief Strategy officer comes directly after the firm announced that its subsidiary CannMart has acquired a license to sell oils. The amendment from Health Canada will allow the firm to capitalize on cannabis 2.0 products that become legal later this week in Canada.

Namaste has not indicated who will replace Gill in the role, or whether it is even actively looking for a replacement. Namaste Technologies is currently trading at $0.44 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
