Patriot Battery Metals (TSXV: PMET) late last night declared that it has discovered a new high-grade zone at its CV13 Pegmatite. The zone is said to be near surface, and said to be reminiscent of the high grade Nova Zone at the CV5 Pegmatite.
The discovery announcement was accompanied with the release of several drill holes conducted at CV13, the highlights for which include:
- CV23-191: 2.46% Li2O over 12.7 metres from 73.3 metres depth, including 3.82% Li2O over 7.6 metres
- CV23-195: 2.86% Li2O over 8.0 metres from 57.2 metres depth, including 5.03% Li2O over 4.3 metres
- CV23-198: 2.70% Li2O over 10.2 metres from 56.3 metres depth, including 4.48% Li2O over 5.8 metres
- CV23-200: 2.79% Li2O over 10.7 metres from 67.0 metres depth, including 3.94% Li2O over 7.3 metres
The CV13 Pegmatite is said to contain a strike length of at least 2.3 kilometres, of which 1.1 kilometres has now been drill tested, with the company continuing to work to determine if it connects to CV5. This new high grade zone meanwhile is said to have a strike length of 170 metres.
37 drill holes are said to have been conducted under the current drill program through to October 9, assays for most meanwhile remain pending.

From a mining perspective, Patriot has stated that there are several options for a mining starter pit following the results at CV13. The metallurgy of both CV5 and CV13 meanwhile is believed to be able to be processed jointly using the same design criteria and flowsheet.

“As we continue to close the distance between CV5 and CV13 through drilling, this newly discovered high-grade zone at CV13, coupled with the large spodumene crystals observed (up to 1.3 m in drill core), supports the interpretation that both share the same “plumbing” system,” commented Darren Smith, VP of Exploration for Patriot.
Patriot Battery Metals last traded at $10.59 on the TSX Venture.
