Rota has since apologized for inviting and acknowledging Hunka, asserting that it was his sole decision to invite him and that his intention was not to embarrass the Parliament.

Trudeau, meanwhile, is throwing shade at Russia over the Liberals’ honorary tribute to the former Nazi member, insisting that Canadians need to push back against forthcoming Russian disinformation and maintain their support for Ukraine.
