Her heart might have been in the right place but her expression seems to be out of touch. American TV host Joy Behar slipped a comment during a discussion of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on The View that many saw out of touch with the current crisis.

While the panelists of the American talk show were discussing the latest geopolitical crisis in Europe today, Behar expressed her worry on its outlook but seemingly took it too personally, relating it to her 4-year delayed planned trip to Italy.
“I’m scared of what’s gonna happen in Western Europe, too,” commented Behar. “You plan a trip, you wanna go there. [I] wanna go to Italy for 4 years, I haven’t been able to make it because of the pandemic. And now this.”
The The Great Gasbag writer quickly trended on Twitter after many found her comment out of touch.
Joy Behar said she’s upset at Russia because now it’s going to be harder to go on vacation to Europe.

This is how out of touch our elites are.
Did Putin even stop to think how his invasion would affect Joy Behar’s trip to Italy? https://t.co/957HDmgaF0

On Thursday in The View, however, Behar slammed Republicans who “seem to embrace [Russian President Vladimir] Putin over America’s own interest.”
“To me, they’re aiding and abetting and giving comfort to the enemy, and now that this invasion is fully in motion,” said Behar. “Do you expect to see sentiments change here in the United States at all? Because it’s getting worse.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared a state of emergency on Thursday following Russia’s invasion of the country, aiming to supposedly recognize the independence of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic within Ukraine.
Zelensky said that around 137 civilians and military personnel had been killed on the first day of the invasion.
