Ohio Attorney Suspended for Tossing Poop-Filled Pringles Cans from His Car Window Has Been Reinstated

The Ohio lawyer who had his license to practice law suspended because of strange habit of flinging feces-filled Pringles cans from his car into the parking lot of a crime-victim advocacy center has been reinstated.

Court documents say that criminal defense attorney Jack Blakeslee has completed the six-month sanction imposed by the Ohio Supreme Court in November.

Surveillance footage captured Blakeslee deliberately tossing a feces-filled can into the center’s parking lot in November 2021, just before heading to the courthouse. The attorney, who admitted to this behavior occurring at least ten times a year, described his actions as pranks to “blow off steam” and enjoy people’s surprised reactions. However, the court found evidence suggesting Blakeslee intentionally targeted the center, where he knew employees for years and was likely to face them in court shortly after the incident.

Blakeslee pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and littering, paying fines and court costs. The Ohio Supreme Court emphasized that his “aberrant” behavior, despite societal standards, reflected a failure to control “bizarre impulses” and brought discredit to the legal profession.

The court said in November that Blakeslee’s actions adversely affected his fitness to practice law, leading to the initial one-year suspension, with six months stayed.
