WeedMD Joint Venture Partner Pioneer Cannabis Launches First Location

Pioneer Cannabis unveiled their first location today in Burlington, Ontario. A joint venture between WeedMD (TSXV: WMD) and Pita Pit, the store is the first of many anticipated to be opening across the province.

The 4,000 square foot location – one of the largest in Ontario – is located just off of two major highways in the area. With over 1.7 million people located within the surrounding area, the storefront is located in a prime location to service Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Mississauga, and beyond.

Certain media was welcomed to a soft launch that took place yesterday evening at the first Pioneer Cannabis location. Naturally, The Deep Dive was on site to get a first hand experience of the location and to snag a few photos at the same time.

As per Ontario rules pertaining to retail licensing, the store is owned and operated by that of Guruveer Sangha, a Toronto area entrepreneur and lawyer. Commenting on the recent opening, Sangha stated, “Pioneer Cannabis and I share an understanding that getting the right product to consumers in a relaxed, educated and authentic environment is paramount. I look forward to scheduling cannabis programming in our education room to best serve our local communities’ desire to better understand the variety of cannabis products, consumption methods and accessories currently available, as well as new products coming this fall.”
