The latest assays have been released for Rockland Resources’ (CSE: RKL) channel sampling program at its new Lithium Butte Claystone property in Utah. The sampling program follows strong initial grab sample assays conducted by the company earlier this year.

A total of 21 samples have reportedly been taken on the property, with the channel samples coming from an exposed outcropping of claystones last month. Much of the sampling was conducted over a continuous section.

Fifteen of those samples came from a single section of the cap rock that forms the top of the exposed butte, with the total length of the samples being 27.0 metres. The samples are said to have returned a value of 25.2 metres of 1,388 ppm lithium, with one section returning a value of 8.0 metres of 2,155 ppm lithium

A separate region meanwhile had two shorter sections completed, returning 1,732 ppm lithium over 1.25 metres and 1,925 ppm lithium over 1.7 metres. The samples came from 15 metres to the northwest, and 28 metres southeast, respectively, of the main sample, with the latter having a section containing 0.7 metres of 3,540 ppm lithium.

“These channel sample results are an excellent validation of the initial grab sample results from this Project that Rockland reported in June. Importantly, the samples confirm a significant stratigraphic thickness of lithium-rich mineralization on the Property,” commented Richard Sutcliffe, President of Rockland.

The results follow the company sampling 4,810 ppm beryllium at the property earlier this month, with beryllium found in three out of ten grab samples that were taken.

Rockland Resources last traded at $0.145 on the CSE.
