There are things in life that we do not ask for yet we want to see when we first hear the idea. Case in point: there could potentially be a physical competition between non-athletes Meta Platforms (Nasdaq: META) CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter chief Elon Musk.
In what seems to be a missing episode from your favorite wrestling promotion, Musk said he is up for a cage match against Zuckerberg if the latter is up for the challenge.
“I’m up for a cage match if he is lol,” Musk tweeted to a Twitter user who quipped that Zuckerberg practices the martial art jiu-jitsu.

The thread started with a report on Meta apparently developing a platform to rival Twitter. Dubbed ‘Project 92’ and started shortly after Musk took over Twitter, speculation has arisen regarding the app’s potential public name, which might be ‘Threads’.
Chris Cox, Meta’s chief product officer, described Project 92 as their answer to Twitter, allowing Instagram users to seamlessly transfer their followers and user data to the new app.
“I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options,” Musk tweeted at the report. “At least it will be ‘sane’. Was worried there for a moment 😅.”

It would’ve been just one of Musk’s attention-seeking antics had Zuckerberg not responded. Posting an Instagram story of a screenshot of Musk’s cage match challenge, the Meta founder seemed to have answered with “Send me location.”

The Verge’s editor Alex Heath seems to have confirmed Zuckerberg’s intent to push through with the match. “The story speaks for itself,” Meta spokesperson Iska Saric told Heath.

Musk replied with the location: “Vegas Octagon”–a reference to the cage around the ring in which mixed martial arts competitors fight.
“I have this great move that I call ‘The Walrus’, where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing,” Musk added.

Compared to Zuckerberg, Musk admitted that he “almost never work out, except for picking up [his] kids & throwing them in the air.”

My day is now ruined after a shirtless Elon Musk just popped up on the timeline from some yacht in Mykonos so now you have to see it too pic.twitter.com/i0K6aOHBK5

Meanwhile, Meta representatives recently said that Zuckerberg wanted to clarify that he did not pass out in a choke hold at a jiu-jitsu tournament, contrary to what The New York Times earlier reported.
So now, what seems to be left to set is the date, and probably the platform to stream it live.
Are odds up for Zucks vs. Elon?

My guess: Elon +800
(7 to 1 odds in favor of Zucks)
