Trump Indictment: ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’ Star Faces up to 100 Years Behind Bars Over Classified Document Retention

According to Friday’s freshly unsealed 37-count indictment, former president Donald Trump has been allegedly hoarding classified government records like a collection of golf clubs.

Trump was indicted by a US District Court in Miami and the charging document became public the following day, revealing allegations of his willful retention and concealment of classified government documents and conspiracy to obstruct their return to the White House. The indictment asserts that Trump retained classified documents after leaving office and even shared some of them with others.

Of the indictment’s generous 37 counts, 31 accuse the ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York‘ star of willful retention of national defense information. The remaining items include charges of conspiracy to obstruct justice; withholding a document or record; corruptly concealing a document or record; concealing a document in a federal investigation; scheme to conceal; and false statements and representations.

Among the allegations, the former president supposedly disclosed classified documents to individuals in the summer of 2021, after his presidential tenure. In one instance, the indictment claims that Trump showed a publisher and writer at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club a classified “plan of attack” created by the Pentagon.

As if that wasn’t enough, Trump also allegedly disclosed a classified map related to a military operation to a representative of a political action committee, cautioning the representative not to get too close to it. Trump’s valet, Walter Nauta, was also charged in the indictment for conspiring with Trump to retain and conceal classified records from a federal grand jury.

Trump and his valet are due to be arraigned in Miami on Tuesday, a day before ‘The Apprentice’ star’s 77th birthday. If convicted on all charges, the former president could face up to 100 years in prison; otherwise, if only convicted of the most serious allegations he would only do 20 years of time, which is approximately 7,300 rounds of golf fewer than Trump would probably like.
