US Judge Orders Release of at Least 175 Names Linked to Jeffrey Epstein

A court ruling by US District Judge Loretta Preska is set to reveal the identities of at least 175 individuals associated with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as early as January 1, 2024. The order is in response to a lawsuit filed by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre against Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking.

The ruling pertains to 187 previously anonymous figures referred to as “J. Doe” in case documents. Judge Preska’s order justifies unsealing for most individuals, citing “no interests that outweigh the presumption of access” and deeming materials as “not salacious.” Only 10 names, primarily unrelated to the case or alleged victims, will remain sealed.

Epstein, a financier associated with prominent figures such as Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, died in jail in 2019. Maxwell’s trial has brought attention to public figures allegedly connected to Epstein’s private island and his private jet, which has been dubbed the “Lolita Express.”

During the trial, Epstein’s pilot, Lawrence Paul Visoski Jr., named passengers including Trump, Clinton, Bill Gates, George Mitchell, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., John Glenn, Prince Andrew, and Kevin Spacey. Visoski described the island as a “regular destination” but denied witnessing underage girls in compromising situations.

A petition by Senator Marsha Blackburn to release the full “Lolita Express” flight logs has reportedly been “snubbed” by the Senate Judiciary Committee, according to GOP Representative Tim Burchett. Burchett doubts that the logs will be released, citing concerns about the involvement of numerous colleagues.
