Voltage Metals Plans For 2,000 Metre Drill Program At Wheeler Property

Voltage Metals (CSE: VOLT) is currently in the process of receiving approvals for a summer drill program at its Wheeler property, which is located in Newfoundland. The proposed program follows surveys conducted last year.

The proposed drill program is to consist of an initial 2,000 metres of drilling in aggregate, which is to be focused on five near-surface electromagnetic anomalies. The focus of the project is presently nickel-copper-platinum group elements.

The proposed program is set to follow an airborne geophysical survey conducted on the property last year. The survey consisted of a total of 726 line-kilometres on 200 metre spacing. The VTEM survey conducted reportedly resulted in the discovery of six high-priority targets on the property.

“We are eager to drill the Wheeler project and test these priority conductors. This area of southwestern Newfoundland has become very prospective for base metals, as evidenced by the success of our next-door neighbour York Harbour Metals, whose quality drill results have been driving shareholder value in recent months. The historic results on Wheeler demonstrate the excellent potential for nickel, copper, cobalt and platinum group element mineralization,” said CEO Bob Bresee.

The application for drill permits at Wheeler follows the company seeing its drill program get underway at its St Laurent nickel-copper-cobalt project in mid-April. That program is expected to consist of a total of 3,000 metres of drilling in aggregate.

Also announced this morning is that Alan King has been appointed to the firms technical advisory board. King notably was part of the team that diligenced Voisey’s Bay for the purchase by Vale in 1995, ultimately moving to the role of Chief Geophysicist for the company.

Voltage Metals last traded at $0.105 on the CSE.
