Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) this morning oddly released its production and delivery figures for the fourth quarter and full year of 2021. The numbers, despite the firms critics, was a substantial year over year improvement for the fourth quarter of 2020.
For the quarter, the firm delivered 11,750 Model S/X vehicles, while 296,850 Model 3/Y vehicles were delivered, for total deliveries of 308,600. This compares to 18,920 Model S/X, and 161,660 Model 3/Y in the fourth quarter of 2020. Analysts for the quarter had generally expected deliveries between 280,000 to 295,000 for the quarter.
For the full fiscal year, the firm delivered a total of 936,172 vehicles, which consisted of 24,964 Model S/X, and 911,208 Model 3/Y. In the prior year the firm delivered 57,039 Model S/X and 442,511 Model 3/Y, for total deliveries of 499,550 vehicles, meaning 2021 represents a significant 87% increase in vehicle deliveries.
