Aya Gold & Silver (TSX: AYA) has reportedly intersected its strongest mineralization yet at its flagship Zgrounder mine in Morocco. The results are part of ongoing exploration being conducted at the property as the firm looks to add ounces to its current resource estimate.
Assays released this morning come from a total of 34 drill holes conducted at the property. Of those holes, one consisted of a surface drill hole, thirteen consisted of underground drill holes, and twenty were percussion holes.

- TD28-22-2125-007: 540 g/t silver over 25.2 metres
- TD28-22-2030-041: 1,266 g/t silver over 13.2 metres, including 5,920 g/t silver over 1.2 metres
- TD28-22-2030-042: 4,101 g/t silver over 14.4 metres, including 15,479 g/t silver over 1.2 metres
The highlight hole, which intersected 4,101 g/t silver over 14.4 metres, occurred on the 2,030 metre level in underground drilling. The intersect resulted in a new zone being delineated between two mineralized zones, and is said to be “the thickest high-grade silver intercept publicly recorded on the property.”
“In addition to delivering spectacular grades and widths in the immediate production area, today’s results add ounces and further de-risk the mining sequence to support Zgounder’s 2,700 tonne-per-day expansion,” commented CEO Benoit La Salle on the discovery.
