This alteration had been previously hinted at by Musk in August. Validating a Fortune report, he suggested that such a change would “greatly improve the esthetics” of the platform. Following user feedback, a representative from X told CNBC that the company is currently investigating whether this modification will be implemented on a wider scale.
This evolution comes in the backdrop of Musk’s continued reimagining of the platform since its acquisition. The tech mogul brought onboard Linda Yaccarino as X’s CEO in June. While she has been engaging with advertisers to restore their confidence in the platform, Musk has been vocal about his ambitions to expand X’s functionalities, envisioning it as more than just a messaging and social media service. He sees potential in integrating payment options, among other features.
Yaccarino, during a recent conversation at the Code Conference, clarified the roles within the revamped company, mentioning that while Musk takes charge of product and feature development, she manages the business and operational aspects.
