Drill crews have been mobilized by Benton Resources (TSXV: BEX) for a phase two drill program at its Great Burnt Copper project in central Newfoundland.
The program, expected to amount to 3,000 metres drilled in aggregate, is said to target both infill drilling as well as expansion drilling of the Main deposit, with the intent of expanding the deposit down plunge as well as along strike. Drill crews are currently slated to arrive on site this week, and will begin preparing the site for a winter drill program.
The phase two drill program is set to follow up on Benton’s maiden drill program conducted last year. Initially pegged at 2,000 metres, successful drilling led the company to expand that program to over 5,600 metres, with a total of 22 drill holes being conducted.

A separate program destined for later this year meanwhile will look to test additional occurrences and zones of mineralization found to the north of the main deposit, where historical work has identified a total of five additional occurrences.
