Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have left Romania for the United States after Romanian authorities lifted travel restrictions against them, following reported pressure from the Trump administration on their ongoing criminal case.
The brothers, who face charges of human trafficking and rape in Romania, landed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Thursday on a private jet, their spokesperson confirmed.
Romanian prosecutors charged the pair in June 2023 along with two Romanian female suspects. The Tates have denied all allegations.

The Financial Times reported earlier this month that President Donald Trump’s administration pressed Romanian authorities to ease restrictions on Andrew Tate. Sources said Trump’s special envoy Richard Grenell directly raised the issue with Romania’s Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu at the Munich Security Conference.
“They no longer have a travel ban… The prosecutor, at the request of the lawyers, modified the content of the obligations previously imposed,” Ioan Gliga, the brothers’ lawyer, told CNN.
When asked about the Tates at a White House press conference, Trump said he knew “nothing about that,” though Romanian officials confirmed US counterparts had discussed the case.
One of Tate’s former lawyers, Paul Ingrassia, now works as White House liaison to the US Justice Department. Ingrassia previously helped Tate secure an appearance on Tucker Carlson’s show and praised him in online posts as “an extraordinary human being.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared the Tates unwelcome in his state, saying “Florida is not a place where you’re welcome with that type of conduct” at a news conference.
In Romania, the first criminal case against the Tates stalled in December when a court declined to start the trial, citing flaws in the indictment.
The brothers’ lawyers say they will return to Romania for their next court appearance scheduled for March 24.
