US Antimony Wins $245M Pentagon Contract For National Defense Reserve

US Antimony Corporation secured a sole-source, five-year contract worth up to $245 million from the Defense Logistics Agency to supply antimony metal ingots for the national defense stockpile.

Reuters reports the first delivery order is expected “within the week,” with US Antimony positioned to start immediate fulfillment from its domestic facilities under the multi-year program managed by DLA Strategic Materials.

The company says it operates the only two antimony smelters in North America and will produce ingots meeting the government’s required specifications at its existing plants. The award ceiling of $245 million is approximately 16.4 times US Antimony’s reported 2024 revenue of $14.9 million.

In the company’s statement announcing the executed contract, CEO Gary Evans called the award “incredibly meaningful” for employees and emphasized decades of technical expertise supporting delivery under the agreement. The company also highlights long-running collaboration with DoD/DLA that accelerated in late 2024.

US Antimony said it is broadening ore feedstock sources globally while developing domestic mineral acreage in Alaska and Montana. It further noted Alaska mining operations began “several weeks ago” and are expected to contribute to antimony products, including MIL-SPEC antimony trisulfide, as the domestic supply chain scales.

The contract arrives amid stepped-up US procurement of critical materials for the stockpile. Earlier, Reuters reported DLA’s plan to purchase up to $40 million of scandium oxide over five years.

Last month, a public-private initiative was announced to establish the first strategic minerals reserve initially targeting gallium, graphite, and copper.
