B2Gold (TSX: BTO) has finally achieved commercial production at their new Goose Mine in Nunavut, which is part of the Back River Gold District. Commercial production was reportedly achieved on October 2, following the first ore being processed on June 24, and the first gold pour occurring later that month.
The declaration follows the 30 consecutive days of production at 65% of commercial capacity, the latter of which sits at 4,000 tonnes per day. From September 3 through October 2, average throughput hit 2,652 tonnes per day. Production is said to have averaged 3,249 tonnes per day over the last two weeks following a supplemental mobile crusher being integrated with the primary crushing plant.
Recoveries meanwhile are said to have been “in line with expectations” and are expected to average above 90% through Q4. The mill meanwhile is expected to operate near design capacity throughout the fourth quarter of this year.

Gold production from the mine is expected to be in the range of 80,000 to 110,000 ounces this year, while 2026 production is estimated at 250,000 ounces and 2027 production is estimated at 330,000 ounces.
