Blackrock Gold Expands Drill Program To 20,000 Metres At Tonopah West

Blackrock Gold Corp (TSXV: BRC) has expanded its drill program at its Tonopah West project in Nevada following positive results previously announced by the company. The expanded drill program has seen the exploration target for the year increase from 7,000 metres of drilling to that of 20,000 metres.

The expanded drill program is well underway, with the company indicating that it has already drilling nearly 9,000 meters of the program. The expansion is a result of the recently completed $7.5 million financing conducted by the company, in conjunction with strong results. A second drilling rig has also been mobilized on site.

The second rig is focused on drilling core tails, with the first being a step out hole for the TW20-001 hole in the Victor Vein that assayed 965 g/t silver equivalent over 29 meters. The core tail drilling program is focused on the Victor Vein gold and silver system, where it will drill roughly 300 metres of the vein.

The first drill rig will remain focused on discovery drilling while delineating vein zones every 100 metres at other targets. Assays are currently pending from three target areas on site, with the company focused next on the Ohio Vein. A total of 17 drill holes have been completed by the drill rig to date.

The company also provided a quick update on its Silver Cloud project in Nevada, with the company indicating it has completed a mapping and sampling program for the project. Drill permits have been submitted for approval by the Bureau of Land Management for a 3,500 metre drill program.

Blackrock Gold Corp last traded at $1.46 on the TSX Venture.
