Canada’s Conservative Party maintains a commanding 26-point lead over the governing Liberals, according to new Abacus Data poll data, with the opposition party at 46% support among decided voters while the Liberals remain stalled at 20%.
The New Democratic Party follows closely at 19%, with the Bloc Québécois at 8% and smaller parties accounting for the remainder.
The online survey of 1,500 Canadians, conducted between January 12-14, shows no movement in Liberal support despite recent leadership campaign launches by former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland.

Abacus Data, which holds an A+ rating for electoral prediction accuracy, noted that Conservative support dipped one percentage point from their previous poll, while the NDP gained one point, both changes falling within the survey’s margin of error.
