Elon Musk Couldn’t Help But Be Weird About Taylor Swift, Says He’ll Give Her A Child

Taylor Swift, arguably the most influential musician in the world, has thrown her support behind Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race, potentially influencing millions of young voters.

The endorsement, posted on Instagram shortly after a Harris-Trump debate, praised Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and expressed approval for her running mate Tim Walz’s stance on social issues.

Swift’s announcement — which was notably shared on Instagram and not X — prompted X owner and vocal Donald Trump supporter Elon Musk to make a rather disturbing attempt to inject himself into the conversation.

“Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life,” he tweeted.

The unsolicited offer from Musk, who has fathered at least 12 children and is currently embroiled in a custody battle, drew widespread … well, disgust.

Musk’s creepy response came amid a flurry of anti-Harris and anti-media posts he shared during and after Tuesday’s presidential debate. The SpaceX and Tesla CEO seemed to relish the notion that the election could boil down to a choice between him and Swift, responding to a tweet suggesting as much with his favorite laughing-crying emoji.

Swift’s endorsement, which quickly garnered millions of likes, addressed several key issues, including AI-generated misinformation and the importance of voter registration. She signed off as “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady,” a jab at comments from Trump’s running mate JD Vance about the Democratic party.

It has also not surprisingly already led to a wave of new donations in less than 24 hours. Trump and Vance have since tried to downplay the support — especially so close to the former president’s “disastrous” performance at the debate with Harris.

Trump sourgraped saying he was not a fan of Swift anyway, and that he always liked Brittany Mahomes — the wife of Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes — “better than Taylor Swift.”

“She seems to always endorse a Democrat and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace,” Trump said about Swift. Just a few weeks ago, Trump gladly accepted and AI-generated fake Taylor Swift endorsement.

JD Vance, on the other hand, seemed to, for a moment, forget who his running mate was when he was trying to dismiss Swift’s Harris-Walz endorsement.

“I don’t think most Americans,” he said on Fox News Wednesday morning, “are gonna be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who I think is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and the problems of most Americans.”
