NexGen Energy (TSX: NXE) has made a new discovery following continued exploration of its properties. The discovery, found 3.5 kilometres to the east of the Arrow Deposit, is found on its SW2 property within a conductor segment of Patterson Corridor East.
Uranium mineralization is said to have been found over a 19.8 metre interval beginning at a depth of 347.7 metres within hole RK-24-183. A handheld spectrometer provided results of up to 61,000 counts per second, with this interval occurring over 3.0 metres. Follow up drilling near the discovery is said to have intersected elevated radioactivity similar to early discovery holes at Arrow.
The prospective system is said to currently span over 1.5 kilometres, with results indicating the potential for expansion along strike and down dip.
“Drilling activity is being fully dedicated to this new discovery area to advance our understanding of scope and scale of mineralization. This hole which intersected 3.0 m of up to 61,000 cps is significantly better on all metrics than RK-14-21(the Arrow discovery hole) which intersected less than 0.5 m of greater than 9,999 cps,” commented Leigh Curyer, CEO of NexGen.
