SKRR Exploration (TSXV: SKRR) this afternoon reported that it has completed seven holes to date as part of its ongoing drill program at the Olson property, located in the Trans Hudson Corridor of Saskatchewan. The company has confirmed that the holes hit arsenopyrite bearing sulphides, disseminated arsenopyrite, and quartz veining within the drill holes.
While it was confirmed by the company that these rock types were found within the core, the company is currently awaiting results from assays to determine mineralization content of the drill cores. To date, drilling has been focused at Jena/Juba, Point, and Tuscan target areas, with a total of 968 metres of drilling completed thus far.
The first three holes were drilled at the Jena/Juba target, with the first testing a trench bearing arsenopyrite, and the second two drill holes focusing on an IP anomaly found earlier this year. Arsenopyrite is significant, as it “can be associated with significant amounts of gold. Consequently, it serves as an indicator of gold bearing reefs,” as per Wikipedia.

The first hole was drilled to a depth of 116 metres, while the second and third holes were drilled to 152 metres and 137 metres, respectively. Most notably, the second hole hit intermittent intervals of quartz and sulphide mineralization from 67 metres to 76.6 metres, and again from 114 metres to 116.1 metres. Twenty surface samples were taken from this region earlier this year, which reported up to 15.7 g/t gold.
The next three holes were taken at the Point target, where this summers field work had returned values as high as 9.8 g/t gold in samples. Notably, holes OL20004 and OL 20006 encountered granodiorite from top to bottom, with the holes going to depths of 209 metres and 137 metres respectively. The former hosted the most impressive results, in that it arsenopyrite was encountered the entire length of the hole, with the largest occurrence being in the top 40 metres of the hole.
The final hole was drilled at Tuscan, where previous assays have returned values as high as 45.1 g/t gold. The hole was completed to a depth of 137 metres, and notable hit two distinct zones of sulphide mineralization. This mineralization occurred from 100.5 metres to 105.8 metres, and from 112.85 metres to 115.55 metres, with the latter being the most significant, hosting up to 40% pyrite and 15% arsenopyrite.
