SKRR Exploration (TSXV: SKRR) is already well underway with its exploration plans for its recently acquired Manson Bay gold project in Saskatchewan. The firm this morning announced that it will soon begin its maiden drill program on the property.
The company intends to spend up to $1.0 million exploring the property, with exploration initiatives to include both a small drill program, as well as an airborne survey of the property. Both initiatives are to commence this month.
In terms of drilling, the firm will conduct a nine hole, 1,700 metre drill program on the property which is expected to begin midway through September. The program is to focus on historic drilling conducted in the mid 1980’s, which took place at the Manson Bay Gold Zone. Seven holes will be focused here, while two holes will be conducted as step-outs based on groundwork conducted by the firm earlier this summer.

The airborne survey meanwhile will consists of 223 line-kilometres with 100 metre spacing over the property. The VTEM survey is to be conducted in regions of the property that will be tied together with a similar survey conducted in 2008.
The Manson Bay project historically has seen exploration occur sporadically since the early 1950’s. Drilling was later conducted in the 1980’s by HudBay Minerals and later Mingold Resources. Historical results from the property include 23.13 g/t gold over 6.40 metres, with mineraliztion traced over a strike length of roughly 2,400 feet. The property covers roughly 64.5 hectares.
