Swarmio Media (CSE: SWRM) is looking to make it easier for consumers to pay for its services. The company this morning revealed a new payment solution for its Ember gaming platform, known as Eco VoicePay.
The new payment solution will enable gamers to pay for their in-game items by using long distance credits that are provided by their mobile carrier, just by dialing a phone number. Ember point vouchers will then be received by SMS text, which can be used to pay for in-game digital items such as upgrades, value packs, skins, and subscriptions.
The offering removes the need for gamers to have a credit card, digital wallet, or bank account to purchase items on Swarmio’s gaming platform. Nearly two thirds of gamers globally are said to not have access to bank accounts, and credit card penetration is low. Such an offering as such enables access to these consumers.

Eco VoicePay will be available to both Ember subscribers as well as “Freemium” users, which is expected to facilitate faster expansion and global uptake.

The new payment solution will first be launched in Sri Lanka and North Africa, before it is rolled out to additional regions that Swarmio operates in.
Swarmio Media last traded at $0.145 on the CSE.
