Gatekeeper Systems (TSXV: GSI) is focused on expanding its artificial intelligence based video analytics offerings, revealing this morning that it has engaged a major digital infrastructure provider to establish a data center in the US. The data center is intended to be used for the hosting of Gatekeepers AI tech that is used on passenger buses.

The main tech to be hosted is that of G4 Vision, a video management software suite that uses AI for the purpose of analyzing video and data. That data is managed for the purpose of video evidence and incident management, alleviating clients of the need to manually analyze the data.

“Video on passenger buses has evolved to the point where fleet managers not only want real-time wireless connectivity to the whole fleet, but they also want AI tools to help them screen through enormous amounts of video to quickly assist them in incident management and video evidence situations,” commented Gatekeeper CEO Doug Dyment.

In addition to video and data management, G4 Vision allows for real-time tracking via GPS, driver emergency alerts, ticket processing of school bus stop-arm violations as well as transit lane violations, alerts on camera tampering, and behavioural analysis of both drivers and passengers. The tech operates through what Gatekeeper refers to as “Mobile Data Collectors,” 50,000 of which have already been installed on school buses, transit buses, and passenger trains. These data collectors record and process multiple video and data streams, while enabling 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity for passengers.

“5G wireless connectivity has paved the way for Gatekeeper to now offer real-time video management software solutions as cloud-based offerings. These recurring revenue offerings align perfectly with our PaaS business model and build the foundation for our data company evolution,” concluded Dyment.

Gatekeeper Systems last traded at $0.61 on the TSX Venture.
