Canada Nickel Company (TSXV: CNC) is continuing to push ahead with the development of its flagship Crawford Nickel Sulphide project in the Timmins region of Ontario. The company indicated this morning that it has begun front end engineering design for the project.
The front end engineer design program will see the company focus on designing the process plant, primary crushing, mine stockpile and tailings management areas of the future mine. Test bearing-piles will also be driven at the process plant and primary crusher areas to collect data for the structural foundation designs. The program is designed to allow construction to begin as soon as a construction-decision is made, which is currently anticipated to occur in mid-2025.

Completion of front end design is currently anticipated to occur by August 2024.
“As we continue to successfully advance Crawford financing and permitting activities, we are confidently moving into this next phase of project development which maintains our targets of a mid-2025 construction decision and first production by year-end 2027 by sufficiently advancing engineering on a number of fronts,” commented CEO Mark Selby on the development.
Canada Nickel last traded at $1.53 on the TSX Venture.
