Tucker Carlson ‘Tormented’ by Past Trump Endorsement, Apologizes For Misleading People

Tucker Carlson, a prominent conservative commentator, has publicly expressed deep regret over his past support for Donald Trump, admitting to feeling tormented by his role in the former president’s political ascent. In a candid conversation, Carlson apologized for misleading people, emphasizing that his actions were not intentional but still weigh heavily on his conscience.

“I do think its like a moment to wrestle with our own consciences. You know, we’ll be tormented by it for a long time. I will be and I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people. It was not intentional. That’s all I’ll say,” stated Tucker Carlson

Reflecting on his involvement in a conversation with his brother, which included campaigning and writing speeches for Trump, Carlson acknowledged that he and millions of others bear responsibility for the current political landscape. He questioned whether Trump’s trajectory was always the intended plan, pointing to signs of low character that were overlooked by many, including himself.

“The question does present itself immediately, like, what is this? Was this always the plan? You don’t want to be a conspiracy nut, but like clearly there signs of low character. We knew that. But it didn’t.. there are tons of people of low character who like outperform their character,” he continued.

Despite his self-admitted flaws, Carlson suggested that personal character does not always predict performance, yet he remains haunted by the disconnect between what he believed and what unfolded.

A significant concern raised during the discussion was the substantial financial backing Trump received during his campaign. Carlson and his interlocutor, Bucky Carlson, scrutinized a $250 million donation from Miriam Adelson, questioning the motives behind such a massive contribution from someone with “demonstrated allegiance to a foreign power.” They drew a sharp comparison, noting that similar funding from a Russian entity would be deemed unacceptable, raising doubts about what Adelson might have expected in return for her investment.

Delving deeper into Trump’s behavior, Carlson highlighted a pattern of disloyalty and viciousness toward previous supporters. He pondered why Trump would not exhibit the same lack of loyalty to major donors like Adelson, suggesting a transactional nature to his alliances.

The only consistent loyalties, Carlson noted, appear to be toward neoconservatives and key financial backers.
